I had a dream of this shape. I haven’t seen it before I went sleep, I haven’t thought about it. But I had a dream, that such images kinda printed/left/pressed as sign on earth/field in my village. It was like I see it and realize it was UFO. There were 2 separate circles (~5m between each other) and inside of it ~105cm deep this central image was like from center by invisible spirals to the border of circle 🙂

Triquetra – оті, як я написав “м’ячі регбі”

triquetra

EN: … originally meant “triangle” and was used to refer to various three-cornered shapes. It has come to refer exclusively to a particular more complicated shape formed of three vesicae piscis, sometimes with an added circle in or around it. Also known as a “trinity knot“, the design is used as a religious symbol adapted from ancient Celtic images by Christianity. It is similar to Odin’s symbol, the valknut.

The triquetra is often found in Insular art, most notably metal work and in illuminated manuscripts like the Book of Kells. It is also found in similar artwork on Celtic crosses and slabs from the early Christian period. The fact that the triquetra rarely stood alone in medieval Celtic art has cast reasonable doubt on its use as a primary symbol of belief. In manuscripts it was used primarily as a space filler or ornament in much more complex compositions, and in knotwork panels it is a design motif integrated with other design elements. Celtic art lives on as both a living folk art tradition and through several revivals. This widely recognized knot has been used as a singular symbol for the past two centuries by Celtic Christians, Pagans and agnostics as a sign of special things and persons that are threefold.

The symbol has been used by Christians as a sign of the Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit), especially since the Celtic Revival of the 19th century. When modern designers began to display the triquetra as a stand-alone design, it recalled the three-leafed shamrock which was similarly offered as a Trinity symbol by Saint Patrick have also suggested that the triquetra has a similarity to the Christian Ιχθυς symbol. The triquetra has been used extensively on Christian sculpture, vestments, book arts and stained glass.

PL: symbol wykorzystywany szczególnie w religii wikańskiej obrazujący zasadę „Cokolwiek zrobisz, wróci to do Ciebie z potrójną siłą”. Często widywana jest też ringtriquetra, wpleciona w okrąg. W religii chrześcijańskiej przedstawiana jako symbol świętej trójcy.

Triple spiral

triple_spiral_1

Believed by many people to be an ancient symbol of pre-Celtic and Celtic beliefs, the triple spiral appears in various forms in pre-Celtic and Celtic art, with the earliest examples having been carved on pre-Celtic stone monuments, and later examples found in the Celtic Christian illuminated manuscripts of Insular art. The triple spiral was possibly the precursor to the later triskele design found in the manuscripts.

What the symbol meant to the pagans who built Newgrange and other monuments is unknown; but, as Christianity came into the forefront in Ireland before the 5th century, AD, the triskele took on new meaning, as a symbol of the Trinity (i.e., Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) and, therefore, also a symbol of eternity. Its popularity continues today as a decorative symbol of faith for Christians of Celtic descent around the world.

The triple spiral is one of the main symbols of Celtic Reconstructionist Paganism, often standing for the “three realms” – Land, Sea and Sky, or for one of a number of deities who are described in the lore as “threefold” or triadic.

Triskele a.k.a Triskelion

2000px-Triskel_type_Amfreville.svg

A triskelion or triskele (which invariably has rotational symmetry) is a motif consisting of three interlocked spirals, three bent human legs, or three bent/curved lines extending from the center of the symbol. Both words are from Greek “τρισκέλιον” (triskelion) or “τρισκελής” (triskeles), “three-legged”, from prefix “τρι-” (tri-), “three times”+ “σκέλος” (skelos), “leg”.

… The Celtic symbol of three conjoined spirals may have had triple significance similar to the imagery that lies behind the triskelion. The triple spiral motif is aNeolithic symbol in Western Europe. It is considered a Celtic symbol but is in fact a pre-Celtic symbol. It is carved into the rock of a stone lozenge near the main entrance of the prehistoric Newgrange monument in County Meath, Ireland. Newgrange, which was built around 3200 BC, predating the Celtic arrival in Ireland but has long since been incorporated into Celtic culture.

… When we observe this symbol, we are taken with the concept of motion. All three branches (legs, protrusions, angles) are positioned in such a way so as to make the symbol appear as if it is in constant forward motion.

The Trinity Knot

trinity-knot-2

The Trinity Knot is 3 interconnected points symbolizing spiritual growth, eternal life, and never-ending love. Also represents the Father, Son, & Holy Spirit. The circle around the 3 points signifies the spiritual unity between the 3 that cannot be broken.

…Celtic symbol of the Goddess. In Wicca, it is taken as maid, mother, crone. It can also mean mind, body, soul, or earth, sea, and sky.

…The circle often seen around the triquetra signifies the infinite and eternity. It also represents protection. Circles are often drawn around Celtic knots to represent spiritual unity with the devine – a connection that shall cannot be broken.

So looks like I had a mix dream of Celts symbols with Christian symbols. But why? 🙂
